Mas informacion:

Tackling climate change is often approached through the pursuit of legal, economic, and technical solutions. This is understandable given the magnitude of the challenge. However as discussions in the United Nations and sound academic research argues to be effective in terms of adaptation, culture has to matter.

In this lecture, climate challenges are viewed through the lens of cultural heritage and popular culture. The speakers will be considering questions of traditional knowledge, cultural transmission and the dynamics of popular culture and activism in complex postcolonial arenas. By approaching climate challenges through these arenas, climate adaptation can be explored through a holistic manner whereby technical and economic approaches can be complimented by cultural and social approaches.
