Oranjestad, Aruba – Committed to providing exceptional and unique service, the Aruba Airport Authority, in collaboration with the Aruba Tourism Authority, recently launched the initiative “Falamos Português – Happiness in Every Language.” This program is specially dedicated to those who work with tourists, designed to enhance the travel experience for our visitors from Brazil. The first session took place on November 4th.

With the slogan “Happiness in Every Language,” this project aims to equip airport staff and community with the language and cultural skills essential for warmly welcoming visitors Brazil and assisting Portuguese-speaking travelers. Participants include Immigration, Customs, Taxi drivers, AAA and ATA staff, as well as individuals working in the hotel industry.

“Falamos Português” will feature a series of interactive sessions led by renowned language instructor Gilda Orfao, part of The Fishline Team, a company specializing in translations. The program consists of five groups, each attending a total of four sessions, starting in November and continuing in January. Approximately 100 participants, who work in various functions at Aruba Airport and regularly interact with tourists, are expected to take part.

This program, “Falamos Português – Happiness in Every Language,” coincides with the new Gol Airlines route from São Paulo to Aruba, scheduled to launch with three weekly flights starting December 18th. With a growing number of visitors from Brazil, “Falamos Português” is an essential step to ensure they feel at home from the moment they set foot on our island. The goal is that by the end of the course, participants will be able to

communicate more effectively with tourists, continuing to provide exceptional service.

“We are committed to creating a welcoming experience for visitors from all over the world, and we know that language plays a big role in this,” said Jo-Anne Arends, Aviation Business Development Executive. She continued, “Through ‘Falamos Português,’ we aim to make Brazilian visitors feel the warmth and hospitality for which our island of Aruba is renowned.”
