Ministers Oduber and Croes Honored with First KLM Aruba Marathon 2024 Finisher Medal

Ministers Dangui Oduber (Tourism and Public Health) and Endy Croes (Education and Sport) were presented with the first finisher medal for the KLM Aruba Marathon 2024. The medal was awarded by Mr. Kees van Muiswinkel, Chairman of Foundation Run in the Sun Aruba, as a gesture of gratitude to the country of Aruba. This took place during an official meeting at the government offices on Tuesday morning at 10:30 am.

The Foundation Run in the Sun Aruba, established in 2018 to promote tourism, running, and a healthy lifestyle on the island, organizes the annual KLM Aruba Marathon. The marathon, now in its 6th year, is set for Saturday, June 1st, and Sunday, June 2nd, and is nearly sold out.

Mr. Kees van Muiswinkel stated: “For this 6th edition, we are thrilled to welcome 2,500 participants, including 600 international runners, along with their friends and families, bringing a total of 1,380 ‘runcation’ tourists to One Happy Island. Our race meets the highest international standards, being AIMS/IAAF certified, and is designed to be accessible to everyone with various distance options. Our goal is to provide an unforgettable experience for all participants.”

Key Highlights of the KLM Aruba Marathon 2024:

  • Participation: 2,500 runners from 32 nations, including Cameroon
  • Distances: Four options – Marathon, Half Marathon, 10KM, and 5KM
  • Prizes: Any man or woman who breaks the Marathon distance record and secures the overall victory in 2024 will receive USD 2,500.
  • Inclusive Event: Welcoming both international and local participants, men and women
  • Race Amenities: Personalized race numbers, online time registration, event T-shirts, luxury medals, multiple water stations, sports drinks, and fruit
  • Scenic Course: Featuring Aruba’s spectacular scenery

Registration: Open online at www.klmarubamarathon.com, with payment options available online, via bank transfer in AWG, or at IBiSA.

The KLM Aruba Marathon is an officially certified race by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) and the World Athletic Federation, ensuring its status as a premier international road race.
