The Volunteer Ministers from the Freewinds have been sanitizing schools over the past several months. Although they are working even harder now during the Christmas vacation by taking advantage of the fact that schools are empty making it possible to sanitize more areas. This is to ensure schools are Covid-free by the time the holidays are over and students and teachers can return knowing they will be safe in their schools.
The Christmas vacation was the perfect time to tackle the EPI school. Due to the size of the school and the number of different buildings it just isn’t possible to do sanitization of a facility of this size when it is occupied. In spite of the fact there were no students or staff, it took nearly five days to completely sanitize the entire campus, which the volunteers executed thoroughly.
This was the second time the EPI campus was sanitized by the Volunteer Ministers from the Freewinds. The General Manager of EPI was very happy to have the team back because the importance of keeping schools Covid-free cannot be stressed enough.
Seventeen schools have been sanitized covering more than a quarter of a million square feet of space since the start of the Christmas break. The Volunteer Ministers will keep going right up to the opening of the new semester. But the work will not end there as schools will continue to get attention from the Volunteer Ministers, who want to ensure the children of Aruba are kept Covid-free and progressing on their academic studies.
The Vice Principal of Colegio Sagrado Corason, Nadia Maduro, had this to say: “Thank you very much. Happy New Year to all the volunteer crew that are doing this great, great job, helping schools with sanitization. Be safe, and thank you again very, very much!”
With the number of Covid-19 cases on the rise it is vital to keep the attack going even stronger against this virus. The purpose is to make Aruba the safest place on earth. This is why prevention protocols and sanitation are so vital at this time. Schools are especially important in order to keep our children and families safe.
